Installation Step B Details:

After double clicking on the Step B download link you may see the image below. This will depend on you security settings. If you see this window click on "Save" to continue.

When asked where to save the file on you computer, save it to your desktop as shown below. Note that "Desktop" appears in the "Save in" window.

After the download is complete, you will see the Icon below on your desktop. Be sure that no other programs are running on your computer and then double click on this icon.

You may see the security warning below. Click on "Run" to continue.

The downloaded installation file will be automatically unzipped in to the folder "C:\_abot". In the window below click on "Finish" to allow the program to proceed.

You will see this window below when the files are unzipped.

After Unzipping the downloaded file the installation will begin. You will first see the windows below. Click on "Next" to proceed.

You will be given an opportunity to install MySQL in a non Standard Folder. See the image below. Do not change the installation folder for MySQL. Select "Next" to leave the installation location at c:\mysql\.

In the next window select a "Typical" installation.

Click "Finish" as shown in the image below when the installation is complete.

The window below will briefly appear next. This shows the progress of the DOS batch file that installs the windows/MySQL administrator program that must be running in the background for MySQL to work on a Windows System.

If you are running winmysqladmin.exe for the first time on your computer it will show you the following screen and ask for a User Name and Password. Enter "abot" as the user name and "abot" as the password then click on OK.

An icon will appear at the lower left of your screen in the tray. It is a traffic light image that tells you that the MySQL administrator is running. See the image below:

The MySQL installation is now complete and you can close the Batch File window by clicking the "X" in the upper right hand corner as shown below.
