ArticleBot Program and Drivers

Installation Step C Details:

After double clicking on the Step C download link you may see the image below. This will depend on you security settings. If you see this window click on "Save" to continue.

When asked where to save the file on you computer, save it to your desktop as shown below. Note that "Desktop" appears in the "Save in" window.

After the download is complete, you will see the Icon below on your desktop. Be sure that no other programs are running on your computer and then double click on this icon.

You may see the security warning below. Click on "Run" to continue.

The downloaded installation file will be automatically unzipped in to the folder "C:\_abot". In the window below click on "Finish" to allow the program to proceed.

You will see this window below when the files are unzipped.

After Unzipping the downloaded file the installation will begin. The Microsoft Data Access Component (MDAC) will install first. You may see the warning windows below. This simply means that the component is already installed. Click "Cancel" if you see this window or click "OK" if the MDAC Component offers you an install option.

The next component to be installed is the Windows ODBC driver. You will see the window below. Click on "Next" to begin the installation.

The ArticleBot program is installed next. You will see the window below. Click on "Next" to begin installing ArticleBot.

The window below will appear next. Select "Just Me" or "Everyone" at your choice and leave the default fold as the location to install ArticleBot. Then click "Next" to continue.

You will see the window below when the ArticleBot program installation is complete.

You will see the window below telling you that the thesaurus has be registered successfully. Click on "OK" to continue"

You will then be asked if you want to add information to the registry. Click "Yes" to continue.

Click on "OK" when you see the window below.

The next component to be installed is the MySQL ODBC driver. You will see the window below. Click on "Next" to begin the installation.

When you see the window below select "I accept" and click "Next".

After the installation of the MySQL ODBC driver is complete you will see the window below. Click on "Finish" to continue.

Next you will see the ODBC Data Source Administrator Window. Note that the MySQL data base is not in the Data Source Name (DNS) list. Click on "Add..." to add MySQL to the User DSN List.

Select MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver from the list and click on "Finish".

The window below will appear, Type "MySQL" in the top entry location labeled "Data Source Name" and then click on the "Test Data Source" button.

You will see the message below telling you that your data source is okay. Click on "OK" to continue.

Note that MySQL is now in the User DSN list.

Now Click on the System DNS Tab. You will go through the same steps to add MySQL to the System DSN Tab. Click on "Add..." to add MySQL to the System DSN List.

Again, select MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver from the list.

Type "MySQL" in the top entry and click on the "Test Data Source Button".

The following message will appear.

Note that MySQL is now in the System DSN List.

ArticleBot and it's components are now installed and you are ready to run ArticleBot. You will find the following Icon on your desktop to start the ArticleBot program.
